Son Kul Lake. The Lake is situated at the Inner Tien Shan at 3016 m above sea level. This is second lake after Issyk Kul lake, that is situated 90 km to northeast to Naryn in mountain desert 60 km long and 30 km width between the mountain ridges Son Kul and Moldo Too. This is a favorite place for gooses and ducks in period migration. In the summer season the local nomads are encamped at the shore of the lake with their cattle. The guests can acquaint themselves with a way of life of nomads. The way of trekking goes by the most attractive part of Terskey Ala Too mountain range. This is Karakol area. The above range is situated to the south of Issyk Kula Lake. The length of the range is 250 km. The altitude is reaches to 5218 m above sea level. Climate of that area is soft maritime with steady precipitation. The of trekking goes via passes 3600-3800m above sea level, via alpine meadows, moraines and taluses. During trekking there are possibilities to bring the fresh food to Jety Oguz and Karakol gorges. Chon Kemin valley. It is situated between mountain ranges Kungey and Zailijski Ala Too. The valley will keep unforgettable impressions up. Equipment: Personal clothes and shoes for trekking till height 3600m above sea level, slipping bag till – 5o C and mattress, sun glasses, gloves, warm socks and so on. Itinerary: Day 1. Bishkek Arrival to Bishkek . Rest at the Hotel ***. After breakfast S/S program. Visit the center part of the city, History museum, Osh bazaar, ZUM. Dinner at local restaurant. Day 2. Bishkek – Son-Kul (350km) (3016m) Drive to Son-Kul via Burana Tower. On the way visit Kochkor village, lunch in Kyrgyz stile, felt show. O/N in the yurts. Full board. Here the best place for acclimatization. Day 3. Son-Kul Day trekking at the Son-Kul Lake. Possible to have horse riding, learn the shepherds lifestyle. O/N in the yurts. Full board. Day 4. Son-Kul – Karakol (400km) Drive to Karakol town along the South part of the lake Issyk-Kul. On the way visit Skazka Canyon. Picnic there. Hotel or guesthouse. Full board. Day 5. Karakol – Jety-Oguz (35km) Drive to Jety-Oguz gorge. Walking 3-4 up to the gorge. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 6. Trekking under Telety pass. Ascent along the Telety river to the camp before the Telety pass and camp at 3000m. We trek a short way until turning left at the confluence of Jety Oguz and Telety rivers to carry on along the Telety river through the fir forest. One hour past we reach the confluence of Ayutor River and Telety River. Two hours up we cross the Telety river over a log bridge and start ascending on rather steep trail winding up on the mountains spur through a thicket of jumper shrubs. After lunch we ascent rather steeply approximately O/N in tent. Full board. Day 7. Trekking through Telety pass. Cross over Telety pass down to the Karakol river. First the trail ascents the stiff rocky terrain. Then it levels into green grassy spot, by passes coarse-stone scree and runs down the mountain stream that is forded twice. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 8. Trekking to Karakol gorge. After lunch we carry on downhill on alpine meadows to Karakol river valley and pitch Camp at approx. 2600m.in the upper reaches of Karakol river. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 9. Karakol gorge. Some will have rest. And others will ascent from Karakol river to Ala-Kul lake. It takes 7 hours. Back to the camp. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 10. Drive to Altyn-Arashan gorge. (60km) It takes over 4-5 hours. Rest. It’s possible to have hot springs. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 11. Altyn-Arashan. Radial trekking along the gorge. Back to the camp. O/N in tents. Full board. Day 12. Altyn-Arashan – Karakol. Walking down from Altyn-Arashan (4 hours) and further drive to Karakol town. Guest house. Full board. Day 13. Karakol – Issyk-Kul (150km) After breakfast S/S program in Karakol, visit Dungan mosque and Russian church, Prejevalsky museum. Then drive to Hotel on the beach of the lake Issyk-Kul (north part) . On the way visit Petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata. Rest on the beach. Hotel. Full board. Day 14. Issyk-Kul – Chon-Kemin (230km) Drive to Chon-Kemin gorge, village Asuu. Its nice place to learn Kyrgyz life style. Check in guest house. After lunch Horse Games and putting the yurt. Dinner at the fireplace. And it’s possible to have sauna in the evening. Day 15. Chon-Kemin. In the morning drive by horse-drown vehicle or by horses to Panorama point of gold Cup of Chon-Kemin, walking there. Picnic lunch. Back to the village. After dinner watch Kyrgyz film. Guest House. Day 16. Chon-Kemin – Bishkek (150km) Drive to Bishkek. Check in the Hotel ***. Visit Osh bazaar, ZUM for some souvenirs. Farewell dinner, folk concert. Day 17. Departure.
