Day 1 Flight
Flight with a stopover to Bishkek.

Day 2 Arrival - Bishkek
Arrive in the early morning and transfer to the guesthouse. After a long break and a breakfast, you have all day to explore the city. Only 40km south of Bishkek rise the first snow-capped 4000. The city presents itself as a rather sleepy-looking capital of almost anything, with wide streets, beautiful green parks and shady avenues of plane trees. In addition to the central Independence Square is the opportunity to visit the historical museum, or just to stroll through the Osh Bazaar, with its colorful spice world. Sure is also time to relax in one of the characteristic tea houses. In the evening you can relax, have an Shashlik, Plow and Beshbarmak of the local cuisine. Overnight at hotel ***. (B/L/D)

Day 3 Visit to the Burana tower - ride to the first lake - Son Kul lake
Your tour of Kyrgyzstan begins 60 km east of Bishkek by visiting the Burana Tower. This tower on the ancient Silk Road dates from the 11th Century is one of the few architectural attractions in the country, which since time immemorial, characterized mainly by the "mobile" nomadic cultures. After five hours drive you reach the picturesque lake at 3000 m Son Kul in the heartland of the nomadic and you will stay there in a typical Kyrgyz Yurt. (B/L/D)

Song-Kul Lake is located 90 km northwest of Naryn.  At an altitude of 3016m a.s.l.; 29km long and 18km wide and a maximum depth of 13.2m - it is Kyrgyzstan’s second largest lake. It lies in high mountain area within a valley that stretches 60 km in length and 30 km in width. The lake is situated in a treeless, mountainous plateau and is surrounded by the mountain meadows. These meadows are used by local people as the pasture. Shepherds come to the lake with their family and flocks and live during summer time.

 

Day 4 Hike on Son Kul lake
At the lake the Kyrgyz shepherds have their Jailoos, the summer pastures. In this area have some stories of Chingiz Aitmatovs their origin, such as "You are my poplar with the red scarf." You use the day for walking on the lake and encounters with nomads. Whoever wants to can optionally take a horseback ride. Overnight as day before. (B/L/D)

Day 5 Drive to second lake - Issyk Kul lake - Karakol
Leave the Son Kul and pass through poplar, apricot and apple-tree-lined avenues along the huge Issyk Kul to the eastern direction. The "Pearl of Central Asia" is with 700 m depth the second deepest lake and freezes, despite its altitude of 1700 m, even in winter not. The ecological situation is privileged, unique in its abundance of fish as well as the snow leopard in the mountains behind it - unfortunately the last of its kind in the world. The man settled for millennia in the oases around the lake. On both the north and the south shore is towered over by snow-capped mountains, vast landscape seen Issyk Kul certainly one of the most fascinating lakes in the world! In strong wind makes the waves even real "sea-feeling", the water temperatures are very suitable for bathing. Arrival to Karakol town, rest in guesthouse (B/L/D)

Issyk-Kul Lake is Kyrgyzstan’s largest Lake 180 km long, 70 km wide and 668 meters deep at the deepest point, it is the world's second largest mountain lake – and the fifth deepest lake in the world.  It is also famous for its magnificent scenery and unique scientific interest. Although it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it never freezes; hence its name, which means "hot lake" in the Kyrgyz language.

Day 6 First Day of Trek - Terskey Alatau
Today starts the walk through the most beautiful part of Terskey Alatau. After breakfast, Short city tour in Karakol – visit to The Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Dungan Mosque.  Drive to the characteristic red sandstone cliffs of Djety Öguz. Lunch and you're out only with the backpack and hike through a lovely valley. Overnight in the tent at about 2000 m. (Allow about 3-4h) (B/L/D)

Day 7 Day of Trek - direction Telety Pass
You walk along the river you get up close to the Telety Pass, where you set up your camp near a waterfall in a lush meadow at about 3000 m altitude. Overnight in tents. (ca. 7h, 1000 m ↑) (B/L/D)

Day 8 Fourth Day of Trek - crossing the Pass Telety
Perhaps you will be waked up by the whistling of the marmots, eagles. Vultures sailing upwind over your stock. On stony path, you climb through the rugged boulders cross the Telety Pass (3650 m) and climb further to high mountain meadows and down into the valley of the Karakol river where you set up your camp on a river bank in 2600 m altitude. Overnight in tents. (ca. about 7-8h, 700 m ↑, ↓ 1300 m) (B/L/D)

Day 9 Ascend from Karakol river up to Sirota place
We trek first down valley along a good road for a short while and, past mountaineering camp site, cross over a foot bridge into the thick forest. We follow a narrow winding trail upwards until the climbers hut at  2800m. Half day rest near small lake. Overnight in tents. (ca. about 2-3h, 300 m ↑) (B/L/D)

Day 10 Sixth Day of Trek - Climb to our third lake - Alakul
Along crystal clear mountain streams you walk 700 meters uphill to the natural dam of Alakul Lake. You climb the dam crest and you see the azure colored lake - for many the most beautiful lake in the Terskey Alatau. Your camp is located on the shore and you can enjoy the afternoon in this romantic lake. Overnight in tents. (ca. 4h,  700 m ↑) (B/L/D)

Day 11 Seveth Day of Trek - Alakul Pass - Arashan Valley
Beginning in the morning you will hike on the southern shore of Lake Alakul up to pass at 3800 m. From here you have a panoramic view back over the lake and the surrounding summits - certainly the most scenic highlight of this trip. Then it goes downhill to Arashan Valley where you set up your camp at 2600 m altitude. In the evening you can enjoy the hot springs. Overnight in tents. (ca. 6-7h, 500 m ↑, ↓ 1200 m) (B/L/D)

Day 12 Eighth Day of Trek - circular walk in the valley Arashan.
This day offers quite a variety of possibilities – horseriding, circular walk through the Valley Anyr-Tor or just a day full of rest at the hot springs. Overnight as day before. (B/L/D)

Day 13 Last Trekking Day - Aksu - Karakol
In the morning you will start for the last walk (app. 4 hours) downhill to Aksuu. From there you will take the car to the nearby town of Karakol. There you will have lunch in local café, rest in guesthouse. (B/L/D)



Day 14 Issyk Kul - Bishkek
Before you begin the journey back to Bishkek (400 km) we will visit to Prezhevalski Museum (1 h). In the Kyrgyz capital you will have sufficient time for last minute shopping at the bazaar before you can enjoy once again the traditional Central Asian cuisine at the farewell dinner. Overnight at guesthouse. (B/-/D)

Prezhevalski Museum is located 12km from Karakol. It is situated just on the shore of the great lake.
It was built to commemorate the famous Russian traveler and scientist Nikolai Prezhevalski, who dedicated 21 years of his life to the investigation of the Issik-Kul valley and the mountains surrounding the region. He died not far from the place where the museum and the memorial to his honor are built.

Day 15  Journey home
In the early morning transfer to airport for flight back.
